I believe you are talking about an iPod Touch 5th Gen? If so, I did say that an iPod Touch would be required (as opposed to "pre-iOS" iPod models. And, yes, an iOS device must be running iOS 9 or above in order to use Apple Music and the iPod Touch 4th Gen can only run 6.1.6., so the first one in the running would have been the 5th Gen. Plenty of time on nightshifts to scour the internet this evening - It appears anything built in the 6th -6.5 generation era is subject to LBA28 addressing which is the cause of the limit with using iTunes. The latest 7th Gen and any generation before the 6th Gen are subject to LBA48 addressing which does not give a limit - APPARENTLY.
This is a 5 year old post that you responded to! If you need the volume from your iPod Touch 5 speaker to be louder, go into Settings, Music, EQ and set the EQ to Late Night.
